Creative Routines Empty Creative Routines

Post by Hobb Thu 2 Jul 2015 - 20:55

I saw this chart as somebody's avatar on some obscure back-water forum and decided it was interesting enough to post.

Creative Routines Empty Re: Creative Routines

neat. more or less similar circadians with less than the recommended 8 hours sleep, most getting work done after rising, freud was quite the workhorse, as was balzac who was early to bed and really early to rise.
made me want to map out my own.  difficult because my sleep routine varies so widely and had to play fast and loose with terms like "work"

anyone else care to share?
ps i believe it's customary when posting your daily routine on the internet to add a list of your fears

I liked your description of sleep as 'Odd Things'.

Mine would be similar to most - except I've dropped breakfast and my morning exercises over the summer. Hopefully the latter will return soon. Also about 3-4 times a month I stay up to past 3am, I find the nighttime to have this sense of freedom and peace that can still intoxicate me. Also add in pet feeding at 3:30pm and morning and afternoon walks for myself.

I never actually saw this post.  It would be nearly impossible for me to map out my own.  Everyday is different because of shift work. Actually I will try and make some. One for when I am on days, one when I am on nights and one on transition days.

When I am on day shift
Creative Routines Slide110

When I am transitioning to nights Usually up close to 24 hours but it is hard to reflect on this chart.  Basically where sleep starts on the day schedule, other starts instead (see below)

Creative Routines Slide210

When I am on nights (work continues from transition to nights schedule)

When I am transitioning to days (sleep time varies between 2-5 hours when I get home from work and sleep again at night returning to a day schedule)

The 24 hr clock here doesn't work all that well because of the shifting schedule (transition days blend into day or night schedules).  Typically I work two days and two nights a week and transition days mixed in.

Reb - you don't need a single chart, you need an animated gif.

This chart initially made me curious as to the regimes of varying individuals with some notoriety or success throughout their lives to see if any pattern could be established.  But it was also interesting to look at general daily habits or routines that these people had as well.

Also, what is this obscure back-water forum you speak of?   ;-)
