Dead frontier....
By the Nine! I can't believe it took me this long to remember but I think there might be another zombie game that we all would be interested in! http://www.deadfrontier.com/
Now this game has no qualms about actually killing zombies, and killing them in large numbers, but At its base it is about scrounging around in the decaying ruins of society for food medical supplies and weapons, that you then used to search for more food medical supplies and weapons. It's also an online game. And quite a popular one at that.Though if I remember correctly you can play in single player or have a dedicated group that only you can see. The main highlight about this game is that almost every building in a massive and I mean MASSIVE is open to the player. The player is also able to set up makeshift strongholds throughout the city by boarding up houses or stores allowing them to rest trade talk and log off.
The game does have massive MMORPG elements But with our own role-playing thrown in in has great potential. It is also a very unforgiving game, shown very much in the different varieties and mutations that many zombies have. http://deadfrontier.wikia.com/wiki/Dead_Frontier_Wiki
Now Trailer video was very explosive in shiny and guns everywhere but to be honest my fondest and most reoccurring memories of the game were of running through the city stopping and scavenging where I could and continuing silently, of course I was a pure melee user and I ended the game with a katana So almost everything I did was silent, but that didn't make it easier, eventually I quit the game because I found it too difficult to do alone and I didn't feel like joining a group or a clan.
But I digress, this might be a good game for us for a few sessions, It's much more up close and personal than project Zomboid and like I said there's an entire city to explore so it might be interesting for us.

Re: Dead frontier....
I'm enjoying the games' bestiary. The zombies are "Resident Evil"-style with a wide variety of mutations - and it wouldn't be "Resident Evil"-style with a few mutant Dobermans...
