This song is obscure enough not to have a Youtube video. It is from 'Cold Blue Flame' which is a re-mix albums of Psychic TV's 'TRIP/RESET'. [Are re-mix albums still a thing? Some of NIN's best songs came from remixes] I don't think this song will blow anyone away - but it is the song I find myself replaying everyday.

Genesis is singing in his usual subdued manner and the re-mix doesn't do any fancy tricks but Spahn Ranch and I share the same DNA when it comes to synthesizer sounds. When the synths come in they have a hotline to my musical core, I have to lose myself for a second, just close my eyes and start to sway. Four minutes of a synth-trance trip to reset myself and back to the grey day.

The other great song on 'Cold Blue Flame' is Fire Woman (cEvin Key re-mix) with the great chorus, "we cannot say, just how we live / it seems like all the(e) universe is just a fib / it is not great / it is not small / it is just the(e) fabric of all and all." Psychic TV's cover of 'Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun' from TRIP/RESET is worthy tribute to Pink Floyd's original.

All Psychic TV's songs are meant to take you into a strange occult head-space and when they work with great artists like Spahn Ranch, Download or Pink Floyd their songs achieve this effect.

Here is a good review of TRIP/RESET from the aptly named website 'Head Heritage'.
