Step 1 - Choose a Leader
{the leader will get to choose a starting item: pistol, dog, wrench, binoculars, cowboy hat}

[Even if you haven't played Project:Zomboid, you are welcome to join in this game as it will be played over the forums and will have dozens of characters]

Rebuild 2 - Muldragh Empty Re: Rebuild 2 - Muldragh

I've re-opened the polls - but after playing a few good games of Rebuild3 last month my motivation to play Rebuild2 over the forums is not as strong.

If there was a strong interest in it, I could be re-motivated. Or if someone wanted to take the project over I'd happily be a player and also explain how I imagined it running over the forums.

I will also mention that after watching Dawn of the Dead (1978) Steph expressed some interest in playing a Project Zomboid session with the settings to simulate a good Zombie blood-bath.

Is rebuilt3 good? We could just which it over to that if it would boost your motivation :)

As for the zombie bloodbath, you underestimate how easy it is to die in the zombie apocalypse, I believe Pappy Discovered that firsthand Twisted Evil

Rebuild 2 - Muldragh Empty Re: Rebuild 2 - Muldragh

Rebuild3 is pretty good. They really expanded the social aspect of the game: people grow to like or hate they people they are sent of missions with, they grow lonely if send them off on a farm by themselves, some survivors begin as married couples, children grow up to become the next generation. There are also a half-dozen rival communities to compete with. The building aspect is also expanded, you can also build walls, guard towers, re-start electrical power plants.

The problem is that Rebuild3 might be too complicated, whereas Rebuild2 seemed simple enough that many decisions could be done over the forums.

Don't tell Pappy about the dangers, tell Steph. In fact, didn't her character died a few moments after Pappy?! I think the appeal to her of a blood-bath scenario is that great mix of deadly horror and grotesque humor that the best zombie movies have.

I personally am a little zombied out but a good bloodbath could be fun. If other people want to continue the zombie theme I could easily be persuaded but I would be more interested in trying other games as well.

Rebuild 2 - Muldragh Empty Re: Rebuild 2 - Muldragh

Europa has gone through some MAJOR updates that have really streamlined the gameplay, So we could always try that out? For starters not all provinces have a fort now. Provinces that do will gain a Zone of Control. All provinces next to the province with an actual fort will be in that zone. Once you move into a zone of control, you can only move out or towards the fort. Forts will recapture their zone of control automatically. If you siege a fort or capture the fort, they won't do this. Basically, you capture the forts, then the surrounding provinces. Meaning that if One of the sorrounding enemy provinces has a fort, It blocks your movement. That fort also frees up provinces in its immediate area, unless you start sieging it.

As you can guess this is really given a new tactical sense to the game. I've seen some pretty fantastic defensive layouts for massive countries like China and France that would not be possible before the update. Of course the counterweight to the fort system is that Forts cost quite a bit of money to both Garrison and maintain.

Rebuild 2 - Muldragh Empty Re: Rebuild 2 - Muldragh

Post by Seth Shadow Mon 3 Aug 2015 - 21:46

Well I just checked out Rebuild three And to be honest, I would actually be very interested in doing a role-play on the forums with the game! After checking out all the decisions that are made after one builds a city hall I think it would be very interesting for us as a group to see if we can design the perfect society in the zombie apocalypse!

I can see it now, who should hold the power in our society? how should we distribute our wealth and luxuries? shall we be a democratic society, a Republic or a dictatorship? I imagine our characters could go into significant detail When were deciding this Very Happy

But to be honest I'm fine with jumping into any game at this point Razz it's been a little while since I was able to play with you guys!

It was a solid, enjoyable game - but like previous Rebuild's it needs to be played on the higher difficulties to be challenging. I'm still committed to a forum game as well, I'm just not sure what shape it will take.

I haven't revisited Rebuild since we played it in Sudbury but it was a really good game. I am definitely open to forum gaming or when time permits online gaming again.

I still have some undead energy to burn-off so I'm going to try this using Rebuild2. Rebuild3 is a better game but too complex for forum play.
I'll post the basic rules tomorrow.
If it is just the three of us, then will will start with two character each.

No leaders needed. If one arises naturally that's OK.

I'm starting a new thread for game design.
