Something better than torrents
I there other options out there better than torrents? My friend downloaded Silicon Valley and the guy he's getting the internet off of got a notice to basically stop downloading illegal content. He's been torrenting stuff for like 15 years now so there must be some better way to get my shit by now.
And streaming bugs him cuz its such a pain and after its done you are left with nothing but a hollow feeling inside... like a one night stand... so I'm told
I was hoping for a gif but this will do.

Treat any 'copyright notices' as you would a Nigerian scam - do not reply or even give any sign you have received one personally.
I keep wonder what will replace torrents too.
In the past I have used emule with lots of happy memories of rare stuff but I have not used it for years, I also tried dc++ for a while but I don't even remember how I set it up. Lately I have played around with USENET but this requires you purchase a USENET provider, and there are also sites that let you just download music and movies (generally in a zipped format) but these are specialized in a genre.
Anything you stream, you should be able to make a copy of. I'm running add-ons that allow me to rip anything I see on Youtube or similar sites.

Millions of Canadians could receive copyright infringement notices in the coming days as Canadian anti-piracy firm Canipre announced on January 5 2015 it would send out those notices on behalf of rights holders.
The company says it is taking advantage of a new provision under Canada’s Copyright Modernization Act, the “notice and notice” program, that came into effect on Jan 1.
Under this provision, rights holders can notify Internet Service Providers (ISPs) of alleged copyright infringements. The ISP in turn is required to forward the notice on to the suspect subscriber and inform the rights holder the notice has been delivered.
But receiving a notice of alleged copyright infringement doesn’t mean the subscriber is liable for any damages.
“The liability under Canadian law is nowhere near in places like the U.S.,” says Michael Geist, a law professor at the University of Ottawa and the Canada Research Chair in Internet and E-commerce Law.

Ya... I've done all that other stuff. And paying for USENET doesn't appeal to me. I wanna know more about this deep web I keep hearing about and wanna know how to access it.
I'm certain there is like an D: drive out there on the net that has every TV show, movie, and music album on it and I want access to it. And when it shows how much free space is left on it, I want to see the infinity symbol. lol. Ah... to dream.

Arrrr! We be old pirates..... dreaming of the infinite D: drive full of media goodies....
I tried proxies and Tor - but I cannot get them to work through the satellite connection.
Maybe we can send each other hard-drives for Xmas...

This has already crossed my mind... maybe not HD's but I can certainly do a 32 GB flash drive... probably only cost us $20 ($10 for the stick and $10 for the postage)
