So I was on instagram the other day when i found this video and thought "Holy shit thats pretty cool.  How did she make that??"

Turns out it's this app that makes crazy music videos with a bunch of effects and also has a huge social networking thing to it... Ie Liking other peoples video, songs that videos are being made of, most likes of videos yesterday,... yadda yadda yadda.

But the most absolutely craziest thing is that all the users are under the age of 14. ALL OF THEM. I actually tried to find a user older than that and found like one or two... and I really had to look. It really freaked me out a bit. You'd figure you'd find at least a few people on there... nope... all kids.

I want to tweet about this but I don't want people to know that I know about this cuz it really feels like i shouldn't. But it's sooo fascinating!

So it's an app that helps edit videos together? I tried watching a video on it but you're right - all those 14-year olds in heavy lipstick spook me. Can you post your video to youtube so we can see it or is it only on musical.ly? (I tried accessing the site but I'd couldn't).

I guess I can post it to youtube.... But then more than the mass of 14 year old's might see it.

Who am i kidding... no one will watch it.

I just wanna say that my 2 minecraft videos only got 2 views.. I know I watched them so one of you's didn't watch my amazing minecraft video!

That was awesome!! Nice to see a Ween reference!

Shades of 'Hold It Now, Hit It' in the video direction and a sincere love of the song - I would watch it again.
But where are the cool effects? Ween demands distortion!

I did watch the Minecraft video (and recommended different BG music...) - but between Youtube and Steam (where starting a game tells everyone else you are starting a game) I'm beginning to suspect that by the time I die privacy will be a thing of the past. It's almost like going back to village life where everybody knew everybody else....

That video was done in like 3 min. It was like the second take. The effects in that one is the music is slowed while shooting it and then it's played back at double speed to give it that jittery look. There is some rolling effects but it's quite difficult to time. also there is reverse playback.

But I really don't want to get all caught up in that app. 14 YEAR OLDS RULE THAT APP. I'm scared of some serious lord of the flies shit happening to me. Some kind of internet boulder get thrown on my head through the phone or something.

I did see that they do movie quotes on there... I might delve back in it for a bit to see if I can find anything that might spark some memories.

Hobb: looking good in that photo. I got some greys popping in my beard but I still looks as youthful as every *grin*. now if we talking about going grey we should call out Old Man Torgo. I saw a picture of him on facebook and wondered how he got older than me. lol. Torgo. he's awesome. I should send him a message on facebook and tell him to defend himself on here. Time warping mofo. Bwahahaha.

I watched the minecraft video as well but I watched it on mobile so I don't know if that made a difference to the number count or not.

I have an inspiration for another music video.  With references to Reb and Hobb.  This one will be good I think.  I just gotta get a haircut I think...  or a shower.  It might take a couple days. LOL

*edit* This is bullshit. They don't have the song in there that I want. I think there is a way to use your own music but I have to figure that out. I hate having a vision. fucking work.

This one I'm proud of.

Rightfully proud - it was a nearly literal interpretation of the song with excellent finale. Half-an-hour for 15 seconds seems about the normal ratio for anything worthwhile. I guess that would be 120 seconds effort for every 1 second produced.


It is strange to encounter an old friend - it's like we share a secret language or something. I remember discussing the meaning of this song with Mike. I think (its been years....) that it's basically a crime drama about Vietnam veteran getting caught me in organized crime because of their sister's lifestyle. It took me a longtime to understand that.

Who is that guy? I know you got me that shirt for my birthday but I have no idea who he is. I always thought you wanted me to burn in hell... lol... no... I thought it was a pot smoking thing.

Neither Satanism nor marijuana - well, at least not primarily - it's the 'Devil Puppet' from the comics Milk & Cheese and DORK by Evan Dorkin. I got into for a while because it was being put out by the same people who put out Johhny the Homicidial Manic and Dorkin was also writing for Space Ghost.
