Forbidden Forest

The spiders, the red dragon, the skeletons (as far as we ever made it, I think), the victory dance, the music - this game left a big imprint on me. A YT commenter calls it "The father of survival horror and third person horror shooter" and it was an intoxicating mix of fear and action. A dark forest with monsters charging out towards you is primal nightmare fuel. The final boss turns out to be a fairly cool mantis-alien-devil that appears amongst flashes of lightening.

This game left a big imprint on me as well. The skeletons actually gave me nightmares when I was a kid. They kept chasing me and the way they kind of have one hand out...it was reaching for me in my dreams as a kid.

Watching it again I had forgotten how much this game influenced me.

wow.. that game looks insanely good for it's time. I've never see it before or heard of it. I love how the moon moves in the background.

But beat the game in 8 min... wow. Was that the end of the game there or did it start over again but faster?

We never got to the end..... or did we? I am beginning to wonder if we didn't actually get to the last monster but never figured out how to shoot it? That's a memory from a long time ago.

Hours were spent trying to complete an 8-minutes game.

I remember the last monster but I oddly don't remember the serpent creature. I am pretty sure we made it to the end but I have no idea if we actually beat it.
