The Knife - Hannah's Conscious

I'm going to try and post new music every Monday while I work on larger projects.  The Knife is one of my favorite bands and the albums Silent Scream and Fever Ray should be required listening.

From what I understand they are a brother-sister team, the brother indulging in great growlt techno while the sister brings the humanizing vocals. Wikipedia state: "The Knife cited David Lynch, Aki Kaurismäki, Korean cinema, Trailer Park Boys, Donnie Darko and Doom as inspirations for their work. In addition, Karin named Sonic Youth, Kate Bush, Le Tigre and Siouxsie and the Banshees, while Olof cited techno, grime and Southern hip hop." I have a serious sweet-spot for any music the lies mid-way between Goth and Grime and their lo-fi art-punk attitude from Sonic Youth and Trailer Park Boys makes the music doable - like something I'd make myself.

This track is from a Swedish sound track they did and is a almost a techno instrumental piece except for the voice. Low key, melancholy yet with a bit of funk, the song was a perfect for a gusty Monday afternoon.

This is pretty good. I'm going to keep an eye out for this.
