Psychedelic Brunch (1996) Empty Psychedelic Brunch (1996)

Two German synth artists collaborated on over 11 CDs full of Moog music in a period between 1994 and 2008. The series was called 'Dark Side of the Moog' and it ranged between minimalist to ambient to house. Think Aphex Twin's 'Selected Ambient Works 85-92' and you'd be very close. Having made my way through all 11 albmns, here is one of favorites, 'Psychedelic Brunch' from 1996.

The titles in this series were all puns on Pink Floyd records, I didn't 90% references, but it does link this music to the wider range of space rock that Germans seem to love. Test your Floyd knowledge by figuring out these titles, I could only figure out 1.5 of them....

1994 The Dark Side of the Moog: Wish You Were There
1994 The Dark Side of the Moog II: A Saucerful of Ambience
1995 The Dark Side of the Moog III: Phantom Heart Brother
1996 The Dark Side of the Moog IV: Three Pipers at the Gates of Dawn
1996 The Dark Side of the Moog V: Psychedelic Brunch
1997 The Dark Side of the Moog VI: The Final DAT
1998 The Dark Side of the Moog VII: Obscured by Klaus
1999 The Dark Side of the Moog VIII: Careful With the AKS, Peter
2002 The Dark Side of the Moog IX: Set the Controls for the Heart of the Mother
2005 The Dark Side of the Moog X: Astro Know Me Domina
2008 The Dark Side of the Moog XI: The Heart of Our Nearest Star

Original PINK FLOYD titles:

And know use mentioning it without linking to it: Aphex Twin's 'Selected Ambient Works 85-92'

There now you are set with 2+ hours of some of the best ambient techno on the planet, perfect for long cooling evening, mid-morning working, or headphone fodder for any occasion.
