Winter Watching Empty Winter Watching

Planet Earth II - Lucky iguanas, back-scratching bears, pack-hunting raptors, caiman-hunting jaguars - it has been a blast.

Monty Python - The modern era starts here, way back in 1969. These are the university-educated anarchists who defined my sense of humour. Almost every episode ignites a sense of deja vu. Watch Eric, Micheal, Terry J.. Terry G., John and Graham in all their youthful glory. Did you know that very first Monty Python episode is titled 'Wither Canada?' How about the mention of Sudbury in Meaning of Life during the church sequence - Sudbury, England of course - but still catches the ear.

Lou Grant
- Ambiguous endings, dark subjects, discussions of journalistic ethics and office politics. It's not a show I can say I enjoy watching but I feel smarter wiser after an episode. Good, solid TV drama that most have pushed the limits of network censorship. Hearing someone scream "Zionist propaganda media!" or "Fag!" on a TV show is still startling.

TAXI - I'm 40/60 on this sitcom. Has a great reputation and a taxi company is a good premise, but Judd Hersh doesn't work for me, I can feel Andy Kaufman' smirk and the plots have been iffy. Yet it has one of the greatest funky-mellow theme songs of all time - listening to that theme song is half of my enjoyment in any episode.

Steve Universe
- Steph just finished watching seasons 3 & 4, she give it high marks and I enjoyed every episode I saw. The concepts of 'gem fusion' remains a great idea.
