Bizarre Cuban 'attack'
Here is a weird story sneaking around the fringes of mainstream. It's from Agence France-Presse's wire-service.
There has been work on sonic & microwave weapons for years and they are now deployed against protesters - like the Active Denial System (ADS). There is also the semi-documented case beams of microwaves of 2.5 to 4.0 GHz were aimed at the US embassy building in Moscow of from 1953 to 1976. The theory is that the Soviets where attempting to read the vibrations of the window glass allowing them to 'hear' the conversations taking place inside, no adverse health effects were felt.
So nothing is truly new but still a strange story. A type of mass health panic cannot be ruled out either.
AFP wrote:Washington (AFP) - No fewer than 16 Americans were hurt in what has previously been dubbed an acoustic attack on the US mission in Cuba, the State Department said Thursday.
Officials are probing a series of incidents dating back to September last year in which diplomats are thought to have been hit with a mystery sonic weapon.
State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said, "We can confirm that at least 16 US government employees, members of our embassy community, have experienced some kind of symptoms."
Late last year US embassy staff and at least one Canadian began to feel the effects of a "health attack." a CBS News report suggested at least one victim suffered what amounted to "brain damage." Some were evacuated to Miami for treatment in US hospitals, others were cared for by American doctors who traveled to Havana to work at the embassy. Separately, Canada has said one of its diplomats posted to Havana is being treated for hearing loss.

So the ADS just makes it feel like you are burning?
It is an interesting story. I would never have expected Cuba to be using sonic weapons on American and Canadia diplomats. Maybe it wasn't Cuba after all.

The ADS is a microwave beam that briefly 'cooks' the nerve endings just beneath the skin. There are a few videos of it being used on volunteers - just like all those videos of cops tasering/hazing each other.
Who knows who was targeting the US embassy? It could even be other US intelligence agencies. There is plenty of inter-agencies rivalry.
