Re: HOS #15 'Cello Deeps'
Like another favorite HoS - #3 Beyond Baroque - this one manages to mixes from synth (KLAUS SCHULZE) to classical (HAYDN). I have listened to this one so much that "AS FALLS WICHITA, SO FALLS WICHITA FALLS" is a HOS catchphrase to me.
I thought I knew most of Klaus Schulze's work so seeing the opening wash of music was from an unknown work by him (Audentity?) is something to explore. Schulze is a Germany artist who did some great 70s synth albums, by the early 2000s he was doing great mellow synth concerts sometimes with Lisa Gerrard (the vocalist from Dead Can Dance) and often featuring cellos .... including Schulze's opium-like 'The Cello' (2000) which I also but on repeat around Christmas but otherwise I keep off playlist because it is too mellowing. It not too slow (there is a drum-machine keeping the pace), and it's not too quiet or ambient (some fine cello work keeps you listening), but it is so seductively mellow that treat it with caution.
Outside of HOS this is probably one of my favorite pieces on meditative music...

Re: HOS #15 'Cello Deeps'
I had never recalled Klaus Schulze's name or music coming up until seeing it in my new music folder...and oddly enough from that same folder an hour ago, I chose to put on his Cello while cooking and doing some laundry. No need to click on the kind link!
When I first selected the two other Klaus Schulze music files yesterday, I assumed they were the same length as an average song. Sweet surprises!
Cello Deeps and Beyond Baroque are beautiful. They were each thoroughly enjoyed earlier this afternoon. I really appreciate the track listing for these HOS programs, as some particular pieces will end up getting used for particular moods or actions (especially yoga and meditation).
