Why 'Anti-Americanism' is Healthy Empty Why 'Anti-Americanism' is Healthy

Post by Hobb Fri 1 May 2020 - 14:24

I'm doing work on 'Woolsey WAtch' and so I'm currently reliving the absolute dumpster-fire of 'governance' that leads up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Thankfully I've come across a excellent forum of US intelligence experts describing just how bad it was under BushII....

Defense Intelligence Agency - Pat Lang wrote:Lang: If you've ever been in the business of conducting liaison or relationships with a bunch of intelligence services—you know, with the exception of the French and maybe one or two others—most of these outfits are fairly bush league organizations, in fact. They have very, very limited means of collection; they may have some particular mission in Africa, or someplace where they had colonial possessions once or something like this, but they don't have anything like the kind of availability of information and things like that the U.S. intelligence community has.

And the heads of these organizations are under tremendous pressure from the heads of their governments, to play up, to "be as good as the Americans, to give me something that I can argue with, like I'm one of the big guys." So, the pressure to go along with American positions, on the part of a lot of these services, is—and then look who the boss, the head of the countries—is tremendous. Of course, the French don't give a damn about that, which is one of their strong callings, in my opinion.

The thing about being Canadian is that our Big Three predecessors (Brits, French, First Nations) all have had long-term relationships with America and its delusions of grandeur (exceptionalism). From the 'French-Indian' War to WWII, our founding cultures have had profoundly different views than the Americans. 'Anti-Americanism' is the only way to maintain a vaguely realistic perspective when exposed to the planetary torrent of US media and politics.

The flip-side of this is that most 'Canadians' that live on the border, work in oil or finance, or watch mostly US media/memes are already functionally 'Americans'. Suspect Most twitter accounts sporting a Canadian flag are little but far-fight American propaganda outlets. Which leads to another quote...

CIA - Mel Goodman wrote: I think the master of this war, and the one who outlined the strategy for the war, and designed—and I agree with Larry [Johnson] that it was just a classic case of agitprop: There was a propaganda campaign, and we were taken in by it, and the press was taken in by it—but the chief operator in all this, let's call him "Geppetto," was Dick Cheney. This is Dick Cheney's war.

Most people have no clue where they get their political 'opinions' from. I cannot stand to hear most white people 'discuss' foreign countries when every single 'fact' is just old propaganda mixed with the latest drop of propaganda. confused For a whole class of people things like 'public opinion', 'the press', 'fake outrage', 'fear campaign' are The Product They Produce.
