Muskrat Memories
I want a muskrat of my own, for my own kids to enjoy. How many nights were spent listening to music and reading, talking and trying, trying and mostly remembering, if in the front bunks, *not* to sit up too fast and smack your head.
Our journey around the island on the paddleboat is a a ridiculous memory now, along with the brutal sunburns we all got from it.
So many happy memories from North Bay..
- cleaning up the hillside and finding astonishing things
- enjoying fresh veggies from the gardens
- games and chats long into the night in the gazebo
- hours and hours of games around the table
- almost no tv, just talk and swimming, boating and such
- feeding ducks from a bench on the beach
A very special place, and I am glad to have been there.

Re: Muskrat Memories
I was in my goth phase when we got those wicked sunburns so had a Cure CD I played while we very tenderly lied in those beds and peeled. The CD must have been on repeat because I remember you couldn't take his English moaning anymore and expressed yourself very vehemently on this point. I guess another case where the Cure was worse than the injury. :)

Hah! I still chuckle about a jann arden cd that was skipping one night in the wee hours at grassy lake and kept say edededededededededed... i think you made a groggy crack about having to turn the 'ed' machine off....
I think we used a bottle of solarcaine, definitely NOT seabreeze! on those burns. we peeled like snakes after that... i actually made my first joke on martha after that... i was scratching like crazy at work inthe lunchroom and she made a body lice joke, and i said i must have got them from her bed... this was about 10 years before we got together... she turned bright red when i said it.

Re: Muskrat Memories
I remember sleeping in one of the front beds of the muskrat and waking up to a noise outside. I was spooked and sat up quickly. Next thing I saw was a flash of white light and the sound and pain of driving my head into the wooden beam above. I immediately feel back to the pillow and straight back to sleep...at least I think it was sleep.
I remember those sunburns and going under the blankets that night felt like the sun was under the blankets with me...burning me again. It was the worst sun burn I think I have ever got.
