Ava came from Newfoundland. She and her brother (Dougie) were found as kittens living in the woods. They lived with a foster family for a year prior to Linda adopting them.

Ava was the matriarch in the feline world here. She is Dougie's brother (they have always been close), Stevie's 'girlfriend', and Copper's favourite cat. Even Lowkey couldn't resist Ava's cuddles and frequently 1,2 or even occassionaly 3 cats would try to cuddle with her.

She rarely meowed but frequently murred at me and would roll over for a tummy rub. A very affectionate cat who very much loved her people, her food, catnip, and her feline companions. She had little interest in the dogs.

When we brought her body home all the cats came one at a time to her, right after each other. Dougie came first and spend the longest. Lowkey next, followed by Stevie who also took a long time, and then finally Copper who was rather scared.

Her gentle love and affection created one of the most cohesive groups of cats I have ever seen.

Her loss will be felt for a long time and she will be deeply missed by all of us.
