The weather has been great the last two days:

  • swirling purple sunsets as the clouds dangle their virga through the sunset light
  • a rising May full moon made diffusely massive as billowing cumulus obscure it but not its light
  • sudden snow flurries over black water where dead heads and gnarled logs bob in the swollen shorewater
  • the trail become a vivid vein of white snow and green shoots surrounded by patches of dry rusty-red needles
  • the swamp at Centennial being visited by a a stately, cautious pair of sandhill perched on a rock, and a fiery buck deer dashing through the thick brush with snappy aerial flashes of his white tail.
