Djivan Gasparian - I will not be sad in this world

This piece I find to display a deep longing, despite the song's title!

A contemplative classic. This song - or other songs from the CD of the same name - are featured in at least four Hearts of Space episodes (#202, 252, 320, 828).

Djivan Gasparian is from Armenia, a small land-locked country that sits between Russia and the Mid-East, and this songs reminds me of a those soulful Arabian flute solos with a touch of subdued Slavic bitter-sweetness. And it has a great title.

Music from Armenia, if memory serves, is the title of one of those episodes on Hearts of Space.  There is something about this "kind" of music (Middle-Easternish?) that I am at times mesmerized, transfixed or at the very least very moved by.  But maybe it's simply the contemplative aspect of pieces like this one that do it for me.
