Any photos from 'back in the day'?

Just curious- given how obsessively some people document their lives with phones now, do we even have many/any pics of us from high school?

I only got 5 pics of us back in the day and here you are John.  




These 2 pics might be the 2 best pictures I've ever taken. Reb handing out head bands still makes me giggle.

Wow- I had cheekbones and colour in my hair?! Thanks for these Neil. The pic of Rob and Steff is nice. Bold fashion choice on the midriff shirt reb! Of course Torgo must have already made his deal with the devil, since he looks the same 20-odd years later...

All 3 are classics. I have never seen that the first one and I've always wondered who took the photos of the last two. One thing about having so few photos is that those you do have are like precious relics from another era & there is much to be said for the rarity, weight, feel and colors of chemical-produced photos.

Wow! It is crazy to see us through the ages! Some of us have changed a lot and some of us seem to have barely changed. Either way it is fun to see these photos!

That first photo of you and john is pretty great and burn that one of me.... burn burnny burn burn it to hell... god.. no wonder there are no pics of me in high school... Damn!

I think I got more pics somewhere.. Imma gonna look

nope... I don't.. Thats sad. Whats sadder is that I just looked at a pay stub from 15 years ago and I was making more money back then than I am now.

Between that and john's impending doom post, my night is ruined. I'm gonna go watch that twerk video again.

Those looks of deep cynicism mixed with steely determination on the 'El Toro Crew' are to be treasured! That picture has a palpable 'swagger' to it.

I'm not that fond of my Goth pretensions - but I can see the intensity of the Carleton years shining through and accept it.

But how to explain John's a fawn-like innocence?!?

Ya... but 2 chins and that hair and I think I see my earring... nope. Burn that little piggy.

The hair and earring says Killing Zoe, the face says Neil, and the setting is the Camp basement with a bottle of El Toro. So I cannot be objective - but re-discovering that photo and the one of Ivan cleaning cake off me were high-lights of digging through a box of old photos.

The paystub thing is a fucking crime - it makes me reflect I'm making far less money now than I did a decade ago because the contracts have dried up and I barely broke 30k/year at my peak.... maybe I should break-out the all black ensemble again...

That one of Ivan cleaning cake off you, I had that same picture. I think I took it. Did I make you copies of all the pics I took from the party? Do you have the one of all of us around the texas mickey of johnny walker? Cuz my copies are lost in the ages.

Fawn-like innocence! Hah! Yes those misty, watercolour memories of the way we were, when you could get away with denim shirts and jeans, blow dried hair (no product for me!) and a velcro strapped timex Iron man watch (cuz I was such a hard core athlete...).

It is awesome to see the pictures, thanks for posting them. Its nice to see pics of the charger, mystery van and especially Ivan and Matt (anyone talk to him lately? I think he is working in Ottawa.).

I would love to know what book I am reading in the first pic. I am thinking its a sandman GN.

You are holding books in two photos and as a fellow bibliophile I did try to figure out what both were - but I'm stumped. The 2nd book does not fit any Sandman GN I have, the title is black letters on a white blaze but I still don't recognize it. If you want to spend a Saturday going through every likely piles of books I can think of worst ways to pass a winter day, chances are that book is still out here...

Neil and Reb are still in touch with Matt.

I had always wondered where those photos came so realizing that Neil took them all is a revelation. Who made the copies? I remember the Johnny Walker photo but I haven't seen it. There might be some more photos hiding somewhere but otherwise this is all I have and Reb does not have any - so this is likely all that's left. So if anyone has anymore photos post them.

Ya that first pic i remember taking... I asked to you guys to pose.. Rob did. Reb did. and then there is John. I really think that book is a D&D manual.

Matt is building a house in brockville or something.. He tweeted he was looking for some suggestions for what to incorporate in his house. I suggested a moat with gaders. I hope it happens.
