Mazzy Star - Fade Into You

For me this is the sweet halfway between between the catchy longing of Blue Rodeo's 'Hasn't Hit me Yet' and the smooth melancholy of the Twin Peaks soundtrack. The second the strumming starts I'm someplace else - zoom!- I guess I'm back in the mid-1990s. Don't tempt me nostalgia - some day I may give in and the tears would never end.

Music is the hardest drug I know.

Wikipedia say the songs has been pimped out in a million TV shows and commercial - but I've never heard them. The song I'm listening to was ripped straight off my CD during the 'Great Digital Migration'. This song and Five-String Serenade

"You live your life, you grow in shadows. You'll come apart and you'll go black. Some kind of night (into your darkness) colors your eyes with what's not there."



Look at this cover and tell me this isn't a goth classic disguised as "alternative rock/dream pop"?

I hadn't heard this song in quite a while and it popped into my mind a few weeks back after that it became part of the current music pack I have been playing.  

It is a classic in my mind.
