Raid by the Killers
The Killers raided us but they are of more primative technology. They came at us with maces and crossbows which didn't fair well agaist our slow firing machine guns. There were no injuries on our side but we did lose one yorkie. We captured 3 of the killers who were hired mercanaries for the killers. They may be interested in joining.
We harvested organs from the dead and we are storing them for emergencies.

Re: Raid by the Killers
It's nice to be able to can the harvested organs instead of smoking them...

Re: Raid by the Killers
The killers attempted a seige this time. They began to set up motars outside our base. The only option was to go out of the base after them. We charged quickly before their set up complete. Again miniguns and assault rifles made short work of the situation. Agent was mildly hurt and had to be carried back after the assault. Unfortunately Farley's husky followed him into combat. Blank the husky was hit with a mace and his spine was shattered. We carried him back to base as well. Navar and Kevin had been researching medical and genetic technologies for a while now. We can now make synthetic organs and decent prosthetics. Once Blank returned Navar and Kevin set about finding a way to use these abilities for Blank. During this time Blank was set up comfortably and feed by hand until the team had researched an option. They produced a prosthetic spine shortly thereafter. Raccoon performed the surgery on Blank and it was a success. Blank was no longer paralyzed.
In addition we managed to capture and additional 4 prisoners for a total of 6. Our prison was at capacity. We had recently wired the prison for power so they could have a heater inside. We treated all thier wounds and offered them a chance to join our colony. No one agreed.
The prison was very overcrowded and not everyone had a bed. Some had to sleep on the concrete floor. This only lasted so long. There was a prison break. They broke and immediately encountered a husky and a newly joined beagle. They beat both of the dogs to death. While this beating was occuring the colonists ran to assit thier dogs. Val was the first to arrive (wolf genetics) and immediately opened fire with her minigun. The spray of bullets killed 5 of the 6 prisoners immediately. Curro was not far behind. He was yelling at Val to not fire. The prisoners were unarmed and could potentially be captured again. The last prisoner saw an chance. Benton has passed out drunk near the prison the previous night and had to be carried home. His bolt action rifle had been left behind. The prisoner grabbed the rifle and fired a quick shot at Curro as he approched. The shot grazed his shoulder. The prisoner was trying to reload when Curro tried to tackle and arrest them. The prisoner managed to avoid the initial tackle and Curro was now trying to grab the gun. Val had been trying to pick a shot but couldn't find a clean shot with hitting Curro. So she now charged towards the melee. The prisoner fires off a stray shot. Curro manages to take the prisoner to the ground. He hits them a few times and they go unconsious. He puts them in restraints and locks them back up.
We use the dead prisoners for both genetic samples and harvesting of organs (real ones are still better than what we can produce). We treat the prisoner and leave them in prison for what they did to the dogs. Thier fate will be decided later.
A heat wave decends on the colony. Mid summer temperatures reached nearly 50 degrees. We had a hard time staying cool. We had recently bought a lot of seafood meat off of the Decayed Apes. We had to move several refrigerator units to the building to keep it from spoiling. It was tough work saving the meat and rescueing a few colonists who passed out to heat exhaustion. With all of this going on...we forgot about the prisoner. The colonists were already upset at the killing of 5 of the prisoners. They got really upset when that number increased to 6. The prisoner died of heat stoke in the prison cell. We hadn't hooked up A/C to the prison yet. The prisoner taken and used to make genetic material.
Several of the colonists were very upset by all the death and began drinking heavily.

Re: Raid by the Killers
Nice write-up. When I read the sentence "We had recently wired the prison for power so they could have a heater inside" I got nervous, it's the kind of detail that is only mentioned when some goes horribly wrong.
It wasn't on the scale of the Black_Hole_of_Calcutta or the Attica_Prison_riot but it still a grim story of fatal prison condition and desperate jailbreaks.
