Songs ripped from CMJ Cds

When I went to Carleton I started buying this weirdly vertical magazine called CMJ



CMJ was mostly a bunch of capsule reviews of new music but it was the CD sampler of those songs that was the main attraction. The CDs had their own little cardboard containers.




I listened to those CDs again and again because they were all I had, and I clung onto those songs because the loneliness of living in Ottawa was crushing me. It was a real education in 1990s alt.rock and began my adult appreciation of music.

Last week I came across a forgotten folder that contained ripped Mp3s of all my CMJ favorites - so I've been on a nostalgic kick and I'll share some of them. As I'm posting them I realize I have never seen any of the videos for these songs and I'm going to keep it that way,,,,

I remember cmj quite well.

I could be mistake but I believe this may have been on cmjs as well.
Prick - Animal

Yep - Prick was another CMJ find. I used to play 'Communiqué' whenever I got ready to head downtown.
