Ghost ship packed with cannibal rats Empty Ghost ship packed with cannibal rats

Remember in 2014 when there was supposed to be abandoned Russian cruise-liner packed with cannibal rats drifting on the oceans waiting to crash into some vulnerable democracy's shore and release its ravenous horde? I had completely forgot about this until I was reminded of it yesterday.

While the British PM's spokesperson described this story as a "B-movie script", no one seems to remember that this scenario strongly resembles the classic 1930s horror story 'Three Skeleton Key'. Originally a French short story, it was later printed in English magazines and then made into a variety of radio-plays. Two years ago I dipped into the wonderful world of public domain radio-plays and have heard a few different versions of this story. Here is great version starring Vincent Prince from 1950 and broadcast on the 'Escape' program. This is best played on a dark rainy day, optimally with a view of the ocean - or at least a big flock or ravenous birds just outside your patio window....
