Ticket to Ride: Europe has been a lot of fun, and has been a great gateway game for the kids to get into.

Martha and I have been playing a fair bit of Morels. Its a game where you gather, then cook or sell various species of mushrooms.

The kids like the zombies!!! mechanics, but don't like the art, so I am making some cartoon zombies and blowing the board pieces up in size to fit them.

Still waiting to try settlers and settlers kids, maybe on this ridiculously cold weekend...

Smallworld was fun, just takes a few plays to get into. I wish there was more chance in the war mechanic, kind of like risk- I like me some dice rolling. The randomness of the cultures is a lot of fun. There are a bunch of stock fantasy races, and then a pile of descriptors, they get mixed and matched to various effects.

King of Tokyo is an old quickie that still gets played a lot since the setup is quick.

Martha is warming me up to Dominion. I have never played a deckbuilding game before (never played magic or other games like that).

I am hoping to try X-Wing soon, but would really like a game like man o' war- even with regular ships or for the war of 1812. I made a variant of it for my students last year. If I like X-Wing, I may get into the Star Trek version.

Dungeon! got some plays as well, but the pieces are too small, and the lack of standup figures takes away from the fun, and same map every time means replays are hard. As with the zombies, I am working on my own standup monsters and board pieces for a dungeon crawl for the kids.
