Re: Interesting Games
This One is already out! Single person shooter, very story driven, the music video practically convinced me to buy it when I have some time!

Re: Interesting Games
It's difficult to tell what the game-play is like in those games - but those videos to a real good job of adding a layer of emotions to the games. I have never heard of Dan Bull before but anyone who can use the phrase "late capitalism" in a rap is worth paying attention to. I also enjoy the sympathetic view of Russians in the Metro: Last Light.

Re: Interesting Games
Dan bull has to be one My favorite rappers Hands down, his channel is very game wrap oriented but he started out with a lot of political raps dealing with the issues in Britain. He also has an album that depicts his struggle with autism and being rejected with most of the world around him. All in all he's a very keen and bright chap when it comes to the political currents that surround the world.

As for the Russians, well they are people too Though to be honest that last scene of the rap hit me pretty hard. Also Do you think that Russians would have a higher survival chance in an apocalyptic scenario? I feel that they do and I'm just wondering if that's social conditioning on my part.

Re: Interesting Games
I discovered Dan Bull after he did a rap about Civilization. It was quite good. He also did a rap about the NSA which was also entertaining.
Apparently he is autistic (Asperger's) and is obviously gifted with words. He is most certainly worth checking out as several of his raps have a political edge.

Re: Interesting Games
Well, the Russians survived at least 3 'apocalypses' in the last 100 years:
*the Soviet Revolution (overthrow of the King & Civil War) in 1917,
*the brutal Nazi Invasion of WWII,
*and the Collapse of Communism (including a decade of brutal 'shock therapy' economic reforms afterwards) starting in 1991.
It is worth remembering that Putin lost his older brother to disease in the siege of Leningrad and his father was permanently crippled by shrapnel when a Nazi tossed a grenade at him. The 'apocalypse' is not a fantasy to most Russians - and this is perhaps why the world was spared a nuclear confrontation during the Cold War.
North America has had the US Civil War, the Great Depression, and the Cultural Civil War of the 1960s & 1970s - but these do not compare to Russia's history. People come to North America to escape the political horrors of the rest of the world, yet now it is America that is often causing the horror they are escaping....

I also have to add this bit of hard-won wisdom: if a movie/video/song is pushing the emotional buttons of family, friends and sacrifice to promote going to war (or any action where murder is the goal) - be very careful! Emotions about family & sacrifice are very powerful and sacred to humans, so you have to protect them from propaganda which targets them.
A friend and I went to see Saving Pvt. Ryan in the theaters and we were really effected by the opening sequence (goose-bumps and near tears). My friend turned to me and said, "That's us". After the movie we had a major disagreement over that movie because even though I felt the same emotional effects I didn't like Spielberg's message so I felt manipulated. To him the emotions were sacred in themselves, it didn't matter what politics they promoted. So I finally said something-like, "If someone wants to touch my deepest emotions, I have to trust them. Hollywood movie-makers are experts in manipulating our emotions through music and acting, but unless I trust their message I'm not letting them touch me." I cannot say he agreed with me but he seemed to respect that position - and we had a paint-ball game to get to anyways.
