Timeless - John Abercrombie
recorded on June 21-22, 1974
The first 4 minutes are for you to collect yourself and slow down, take a breath, look toward the sky (or ceiling), turn off the screen. The remaining 8 are for thinking 'other' thoughts, not the everyday thoughts of what needs to be done or regretted but thoughts that are allowed to arise from a different place.
I guess this is 'light jazz', which sounds like an insult but it hard to listen to this with anything but awe. The soft brushed drums, percolating organ synths and soulful guitar combine into 12 minutes of soul exercise.
