This is what the current situation is:

Seymour Hersh - the most well-known investigative journalist in America - publishes a article proving that Trump's Syrian attack was done despite all the evidence that there was no 'chemical attack'. According to inside accounts Trump became convinced that military force was necessary and could not be dissuaded. The corporate media definitely supported his belligerence.

Trump's Red Line wrote:“Did the Syrians plan the attack on Khan Sheikhoun? Absolutely. Do we have intercepts to prove it? Absolutely. Did they plan to use sarin? No. But the president did not say: ‘We have a problem and let’s look into it.’ He wanted to bomb the shit out of Syria.”

To the dismay of many senior members of his national security team, Trump could not be swayed over the next 48 hours of intense briefings and decision-making.
 
The next few days were his most successful as president. America rallied around its commander in chief, as it always does in times of war.

This story had to be published in a German newspaper and the only outlet to interview Hersh is Canada's Real News Network.

The very next day the Trumpian White House released this:


No sources or evidence are given. According to Politico.com this threat was "cobbled together in a series of hurried discussions, squeezed in between meetings" by Defense Secretary Mattis, Secretary of State Tillerson and National security adviser McMaster. Trump does not seem to even know about it because he was literally busy tweeting anti-Hillary stuff as this insane statement was released. The US military said that the press release was the first they had heard of it.

Of course, the corporate hacks fell in line and even added some:

There is now a clear 'war cabal' openly operating at the highest level of the White House. They have moronic Trump on a leash that he happily attached himself to. Dissenting rational voices are barred from being printed or interviewed in the Homeland.

The best part of no internet access was no news. Not even a headline or tweet. The problem isn't fake news, it is toxic news. Toxic people spewing toxic belligerence as massaged by toxic PR people and spread across the land by toxic announcers and writers.

There are like 5 real reporters in the US, none of work for a major corporation, and the second you encounter their reporting you'll it: actual sources, skepticism to power, a certain humanism will shine through.

I have not heard any news in a month but there are only 2 relevant facts about the US:

1) Geopolitically: The US is indulging in 'bad cop' mode, threatening and blustering. The goal is economic extortion and bare-bones obedience.  

2) Domestically: Trump is a non-entity, he has turned everything over to relatives, lobbyists and generals so the White House is in chaos as various right-wing factions coup each other.

That's all I need to know. Seems like we seen this show a 100 times before.

I'm not advocating apathy but we are allowed to plug are ears against Demogorgon's endless duophonic screaming. Some magi say they can discern certain patterns in the vulgar gibberish but the loss of their sanity is noticeable.
