Black Sabbath - Planet Caravan (1970)
I discovered this song in November of 2018 and it has been in regular rotation ever since, including some great covers by Mercury Rev and Big Blood.
Lyrics: Geezer Butler ("It was about floating through the universe with your loved one, instead of “Let’s go down the pub and have some chips or whatever")
Vocals: Â Ozzy Osbourne (with treble and tremolo effects from a Leslie speaker)
Piano: album engineer Tom Allom
Flute: Tony Iomm (overdubbed and reversed then re-forwarded with stereo delay)
We sail through endless skies
Stars shine like eyes, the black night sighs
The moon in silver dreams
Pours down in beams, light of the night
The earth, a purple blaze
Of sapphire haze in orbit always
While down below the trees
Bathed in cool breeze, silver starlight
Breaks dawn from night
And so, we pass on by
The crimson eye of great God Mars
As we travel the universe

Re: Black Sabbath - Planet Caravan (1970)
Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Under the crimson eye of God War
But we pass on by
listening to the black night sigh
Our endless sea without shore
Just like witches at black masses
Under the crimson eye of God War
But we pass on by
listening to the black night sigh
Our endless sea without shore
