So I have been playing around with the mods and have 2 options that I find interesting.

One is more of our traditional world with lots of plants, animals, things and Biomes O Plenty type of idea. It seems to be running smooth however, I had to take several mods out because they were not doing anything such as Mo' Creatures.

The second option is a world with a really good terrain generator and creates very impressive landscapes with lots to explore. It is designed more for exploration rather than having lots of mods. I think I have Thaumcraft working with it which might create an interesting world. There are a few mod options with it but not a lot. The base mod for this one is called vintagecraft. I can run just as a world generator which is nice or I can run it as a mod with a lot of stuff built into it. If we want to go this route we can discuss it tomorrow when I call.

So I was playing with the shipwreck mod and here is the deal. Each type of wreck is weighted against each other type of wreck. So if there are 10 types of wrecks and each one has a value of 1 then each type of wreck would have a 1 in 10 chance of spawning. So what I have done is set the ocean rowboat wreck very high so that other wrecks have a very little chance of spawning...but the ocean bottom has a lot of sunken rowboats!!

I also can't get a recipe viewer working. It crashes. So it is going to make it difficult to figure out a lot of things.

I have found a minimal mod that works. Remind me to send it to you.

I have also added a blacksmith mod that seems cool.

Have a reworked mod list almost ready. A few small changes for big results.

We now have recipes (mostly) and a working mini map.

As well as a few other changes.

I still need to do some config files.

I will email you the final mod list soon. I will also post links to some info on the mods.

Update:

Screw version 1.8! It just isn't forge ready yet. It keeps crashing and so few things are compatible.

Instead I have been playing around with 1.7.10 again and have created a world that seems stable. The big question is will it lag when 4 of us are connected. I will email you the mods and forget version we will try.

I have it set up for 3 roles. A magic user, a blacksmith/tinkerer, and farmer/cooking stuff.

The fourth role could be warrior or something like that.

The mods for each role are:

Thaumcract - Magic
Tinkerers Construct - Smith
Plant Mega Pack and Growthcraft - Farmer/Cook
